is there a formula that can tell me what the max level i can safely charm with my mistral's charm song

This is from 2005 (about the last time I played until recently), and is about mentalists, however, it might be pertinent to what you are looking for. If anyone has any updated information, or if you can confirm that this is still valid...

The specific section of that which talks about charming level is:

The established and tested formula to determine what mob you can safely charm is:

Charm Level = (Mentalist Level X .66) + ((Light Spec + Spec Modifier) X .33)

So, with this formula in hand we see that a Fully Spellcrafted, Level 50, Realm rank 4 Mentalist, with 46 points in Light spec would use the following formula:

Level = (50 X .66) + ((46 + 11 from Items + 3 from Realm Rank) X .33)

so...

Level = 33 + (60 X .33)

Level = 33 + 19.8

Level = 52.8

This is usually rounded down to 52, for safety sake.

this seems about right because i know a minst speced 50 at a high rr can charm a red con pet. and with the formula that make since because it comes out to be lvl57 pet if ur rr13

However, a minstrel can spam the charm spell, as it's insta-cast, with no recast timer, and safely charm much higher level monsters than a mentalist could, because the minstrel can get off 10-20 charm spells for every one pulse the mentalist casts.
