Leveling in 2019

Postby Deelir » Tue Mar 12, 2019 3:08 pm

I've been gone for roughly four-five years and have recently started over in the game. I'm attempting to slowly get caught up on the changes and it's pretty extensive. The one thing that's killing me is I can't figure out the best leveling path anymore. My old method doesn't really work as I get an XP bottleneck between 35 and 45. So I was curious what's the most efficient way to level on a single account? The way I used to do it was...

1-35 New User Journey
35-45 Glass repeatables in Oceanus only. (Chests, Djinn, Harpies and Statues.)
45-50 Commander Quests/Cathal repeats.

I'm not afraid to grind if there is a good spot. I've been searching for days to see if someone posted a good resolution. All the guides I find are for RvR servers and not viable.

Thank you!

Hi there,

i would basically do the same thing. For a change of pace, i would maybe venture in the classic dungeons, for example Treibh Caillte and Coruscating Mines (in Hib). They were also recently upgraded for loot.
Not sure if there are any grinding spots, but i suppose for solo leveling the ToA glass quests would be the fastest xp route to Cathal.

Cheers,

1-30 new player experience or dungeon quests
30 you can do chests and gets you to 35 really fast, just make sure you avoid the sharks
35-41 Oceanus glass repeatables (39-41 might want to do dungeon quests)
42-45 dungeon quests, some might need help of a level 50, can do Meso glass at ~44
45-50 Cathal, make sure you pick up free kings armor soon as you ding 50
50-CL15 commander quests, glass quests(can get enough for ML8 or 9 with a little farming), Labyrinth(xp isn't great, but you can get tokens to get some RAs)

About CL8(all the bonuses from kings gear) try to get keep groups for tokens.

Sometimes a level 50 would power level me to low 40s in about two hours in barrows
Then once in the 40s I'd get commander quests and be 50 inside six hours if I could get a group. I'd pick up Cathal quests at 45, 47 and 49 so I could triple dip the xp once I was 50.
Think my personal best is 1-CL5 in one day (about 11hours /played).

For solo the slowest/grindiest part was 39 to 45, once you hit 45 Cathal is really fast.
If someone can do commander x2 for you 40-45 goes really fast. I think you can accept the quest at 40.

I always run multiple accounts so i usually pl'd myself to 45 are Fin in NF and then ran glass quests in Stygia til 50. Running those with 5x chars also gave me enough to get ml10 and was less than an hour of work. Now that im thinking now they may have changes those quests, if thats the case i would probably continue at fins or hit DF or frontier dungeon that im dawning a blank on name at the moment. I realize now all people have multiple accounts but in 2019 on gaheris im assuming most people do or know someone who does that can help with PL if 50 as fast as possible is the goal.

EC states they don't want people on multiple accounts, but not sure how much they will enforce that on Gaheris.

I'd like to see some EC classes only groups.

I'm thinking paladin, bard, druid, 5x runemaster would be a nice nuker group.
Paladin, suppression RM, bard, druid, 4x troll zerker for a melee group.

Newest EC FAQ page doesn't mention multiple accounts at all.
They still have their no macro groups in pvp areas rule, but that doesn't apply to Gaheris.

If Pendragon patch comes its going to change leveling with commanders quests removed, but still should be interesting.
Overall a slower leveling experience for EC accounts, but I thought it was a bit too fast any ways.
They are trying to make DF and ToA more relevant, which is a good thing.
I like that all the secondary currencies are getting consolidated to bounty points.
Should make it a lot more simple to get templates done.

8-man
paladin(50 shield, 48 chants, 31 slash, 19 parry) warlord
bard(50 nurt, 42 reg) sojourner
druid(42 nurt, 33reg) or (50 nurt, 20 reg) perfecter
druid(45 nat, 26 reg, 14 nurt) convoker
sorc(46 mind, 28 body) convoker
rm(50 sup, 20 RC) stormlord
rm(48 RC, 24 dark) stormlord
rm(47 RC, 26 sup) stormlord

nat druid, sorc and rms are single target nuke, sorc and druid ML9 pets for keep doors, bard and druid heals, paladin blocker.
dots from sorc and druid with bolts from rm opener with pet attack and paladin taunt.
paladin chants might be nerfed a bit, but the nature druid gets the af/hp aura.
all baseline buffs should be covered and the nurt druid can buff the important spec buffs.

Looks like fun to me. Along with lacking pbaoe EC i guess lacks pet classes, 2 ml9 pets plus 8 chars hitting door with HoA up should have no problem knocking down doors though. Might take a charge per door though but thats no big deal. Im every curious how a 8 man EC team will work. Let me know if you need help lvling/gearing up once its live. Id also love to see this team in action, even if im just following to watch

After fooling around a lot with specs and grp makeups i think the funnests and most interesting 8man for EC would be 4cleric, 3druid, 1healer or valk.

4 Clerics (50smite, 20enhance) 4 Wardlord or 1 Perfector 3 Warlord if with valk
2 Druid (45NA, 26reg, 14nut) Convoker
1 Druid (42nur, 33reg) Perfector
1 Healer (42aug, 33pac) Perfector OR 1 Valk (50shield, 41mend, 34sword, 19odin, 10parry) Warlord

4 Clerics will have base buffs, backup healing, AE and Single target dmg, Return dmg shield, not sure if the lvl50 smite spell with effect door dmg but if it does could help for ripping threw doors. 2 Druids will be healers and ml9 pets for keep doors. 1 Druid main spec buffer and healer. 1 Healer backup spec buffer to ensure full spec buffs for chars and pets, Clerity for faster attacking on doors, AE stun, Power buff. If i went valk it would be for tanking lord, guard and Oh $h!t insta heal, also thousand storms is nice on lord.

I like the idea of an all "healer" class grp, i think it would just be neat to see them tear down some keeps

I wouldn't do a group without at least one blocker. Balancing heal agro would be a real pain for the group without a blocker.

I normally ran a 6 man grp. Cabby, 2sm, druid, bard, and valk. Don't get me wrong the valk has its uses but holding aggro was never one of them. Aside from the start of a lord fight id say 99% of the time the aggro was on one of the pbaoe. I may still run a valk for its other added benefits but i dont think it will hurt an 8 man team with 4 active healers to not have a blocker.
